Author: Williamson, D
Abstract: Exploration of EL 22579 began in 2004 it involved a reconnaissance stream sediment sampling program targeting diamonds. Emphasis was placed a macro diamond population recovered previously by Rio Tinto Exploration. Airborne magnetic was also flown and anomalies followed up by site visits, stream sediment and soil sampling. Unfortunately nothing of significance was found. Further geophysics was flown and satellite imagery purchased. These along with a regional stream sediment geochemistry sampling assisted developing targets. The most significant target proved to be the Northwest Copper Project. This was followed up with a closed spaced soil sampling program and detailed mapping. Results were then analysed and it was decided that the exploration licence warranted no further work. EL 22579 was relinquished in 2010.
