Abstract: Geological mapping done so far indicate that the Strangways Complex consists essentially of high-grade metamorphics rocks. In EL 25791, much of the area, particularly northern part is covered by recent sediments. In the southern part of the tenement rocks of the Arunta Block may dominate which have been overlain by recent sediments including alluvium, red sand accumulation and minor calcrete. TMI image of the project area shows that under the recent sedimentary cover, particularly the southern part of the area is dominated by basement rocks of the Arunta Block. During the reporting period, a review of the tenement was undertaken which suggest that, although project area is covered by recent sediments, still it has potential of various commodities in the project area. Geophysical data gathered so far was reviewed and a strategy was prepared to continue exploration program over the project area. In order to understand the geological setting, it is imperative to map the project area in detail. A campaign of RC drilling will be conducted to access to bed rock geology. Geochemical samples collected during mapping and drilling will be analysed for base metals, gold and uranium. It is also possible that during the reporting period ended on 21 February 2011, an airborne high resolution geophysical survey will also be flown over the project area.
