Abstract: EL 24111 was applied for to explore for gold and base metals. EL 24111, located about 100 km southwest of the Rabbit Flat roadhouse in the southern Tanami region, was granted to Ferdinand Joseph Bergmann on 8 December 2008. The tenement, which comprised 152 sub-blocks covering about 487.2 sq km, was surrendered on 19 October 2009. EL 24111 was applied for to explore for gold and base metals. The geology of the tenement comprises Palaeozoic to Mesozoic sedimentary rocks of the Canning Region that are interpreted to overlie Palaeoproterozoic rocks of the Tanami Region. Work completed before surrender of the tenement comprised a review of open file reports on previous activities in the area of EL 24111 and a reconnaissance field inspection. Open file exploration reports indicate that previous mineral exploration comprised mainly regional geophysical surveying and reconnaissance activities. The only documented previous drilling activities in and around the area of EL 24111 comprised water bores. A reconnaissance field inspection was completed by the tenement holder in the winter of 2009. No samples were collected and no ground disturbing exploration activities were completed. The tenement was surrendered as a result of the negative conclusions drawn from the reconnaissance field inspection and Phanerozoic surface geology.
