Title Holder / Company: Deep Yellow

Tenure: EL9836
Year: 2009
Author: Bridgwater, HL
Abstract: Deep Yellow Ltd (DYL) acquired EL9836 from Tanami Exploration NL (TENL) following TENL's decision to downgrade the gold exploration potential of the licence. The transfer was registered on 22 January 2008. EL 9836 is located approximately 170km NNE of Alice Springs on the Alcoota 1:250000 mapsheet. The tenement is located within the Georgina Basin with the Sandover River cutting across the eastern edge of the tenement block. The exploration target is calcrete or sand-hosted mineralisation of uranium formed in relation to the drainage system of the Sandover River. Since acquisition of the tenement, DYL's activities have been limited to desktop assessment and reconnaissance field work. Given the current financial climate, a decision was made to focus manpower on more prospective tenure within the Northern Territory. Exploration Licence 9836 was due to expire in August 2009 and a decision was made not to seek renewal of the licence.
