Title Holder / Company: CSIRO
Report id: CR1992-0835
Tenure: NOTAPPLICABLE
Year: 1992
Abstract: This report deals with the SIROGAS project led by CSIRO to refine a Swedish soil gas technique to detect blind ore bodies at depths up to 1000m, by collecting and measuring minute concentrations of ore-related elements carried to the surface by streaming of soil gas. Trials were run by CSIRO over the Elura ore body in NSW. The owners of Woodcutters mine in NT expressed interest in the technique and provided site data, including water chemistry, for a preliminary assessment of the suitability of the technique for NT.
