Abstract: This report describes the 2008 Kulgera gravity survey conducted under the Drilling and Geophysics Collaboration program, a component of the NTGS's 'Bringing Forward Discovery' initiative. A precision Gravity/GPS survey was carried out by Daishsat Geodetic Surveyors over EL 26197 Victory Downs and EL 26194 Umbeara, exploration licences which Quasar Resources Pty Ltd (QSR) hold 100%. A total of 2,623 gravity stations were collected at a nominal spacing of 1km. The survey was carried out between 18 November and the 1 December 2008. Significant improvement in the gravity coverage of the area has been achieved from this survey. Prior existing gravity data only gave an indication to a broad contrast between the denser Musgrave block and the overlying basin sediments. Greater detail in the new data allows for classification of intrusives (interpreted from the magnetic data) based on their relative densities. One gravity anomaly in particular with a low magnetic signature was followed up with infill coverage and will undergo further investigation as an IOCG target. Further detailed processing and interpretation of the new data, including modelling and 3D inversions is underway.
