Title: First and final report for EL 25650 Iron Sands 3, year ending 26 September 2008
Title Holder / Company: Imperial Granite and Minerals
Report id: CR2008-0782
Tenure: EL25650
Year: 2008
Author: Benger, JW
Abstract: This area was initially taken up along with other areas in the same vicinity for the purpose of exploring the Magnetite sand potential. The overall exploration result was that whilst a large area is covered by Magnetite enriched sands, there is insufficient volume to possibly be of any value. Due to logistics, it would require 10's, if not 100's of millions of tonnes of sand to be at all viable. There appeared to be an area of elevated Thorium, but on chip sampling and scintillometer checking the area was found to be too low in value. The best sample result was 746ppm Th. Unfortunately the assay results are unavailable as they have been lost.
