Abstract: | EL 5888 is explored as part of the Eastern Tanami Project which comprises Exploration Licences 5888, 8809 and 22965 and is situated approximately 250km east-southeast of Halls Creek, in the north-western portion of the Tanami Desert. The tenements are granted to Tanami Exploration NL (TENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL (TGNL), a publicly listed company. From December 2000 to December 2005 they formed part of the Tanami (NT) JV, a Joint Venture agreement between Tanami Gold NL (TGNL) and Barrick Gold of Australia Limited (Barrick). Exploration on the relinquished portion of EL 5888 was completed by Barrick and TENL. It included geological re-interpretation, geophysical imaging, geochemical sampling as well as VAC drilling. No significant assays were returned. The geochemical sampling returned a maximum gold assay value of 1.85 ppb Au from a DHBLEG sample. Results from the VAC drilling returned a best assay result of 0.0022ppm Au in SUVA 0110. |
