Title: | 1968 Monthly report on AP 361 Numery, Illogwa Creek |
Title Holder / Company: | McIntyre Mines Australia |
Report id: | CR1968-0082 |
Tenure: | AP361 |
Year: | 1968 |
Abstract: | This brief handwritten note is the only documentation of work on AP 361 Numery. The ground had previously been held by Australian Geophysical who put down 10 holes. The lease covers an E-W syncline. The Ringwood Member (mainly dolomite) is underlain by the basic volcanics of the Pertataka Formation. Malachite occurs along cracks in the algal dolomite of the Ringwood Member at the contact of the two formations. Further from the contact, the dolomite and basalt both contain cubic pyrite. A true thickness of at least 14 feet of the dolomite may be mineralised with chalcopyrite in association with pyrite. Note that AP 361 as referred to here is is at Illogwa Creek as per the Department's Tennant Creek office. Darwin Departmental archives have a different location for AP 361. |
