Abstract: The tenements are in an area with potential diamondiferous kimberlites and base metal mineralisation. Previous work in the area has found up to five microdiamonds, five chromites and a single picro-ilmenite. Macrodiamonds are known to occur within 30km of the area and the Merlin diamond deposit is to the west of the tenements. An aeromagnetic survey has indicated up to 23 discrete magnetic features resembling kimberlites. Following clearance negotiation a sampling program was commenced and abandoned in the 2007 field season by a team of 2 Geologists and 2 Field assistants with two vehicles . In addition a total of 6 aboriginal monitors were involved in the program. The aim was to visit as many of the 23 discrete magnetic features as possible and obtain stream or soil samples. The access difficulties resulted in only 5 samples being acquired from 2 of the 3 tenements. A good relationship has been founded with the Northern Land Council (NLC) and the inhabitants of Robinson River Community. Further work in the 2008 field season will be undertaken with a helicopter.
