Abstract: This report describes exploration by Rio Tinto Exploration Pty Limited (RTX) within the relinquished portion of EL 3405 Anson for the period ending 27 July 2007. The tenement is owned by Ashton Mining Limited and Ashton Operations Australia Limited ('Ashton'), subsidiaries of Rio Tinto Ltd and was granted on the 28 July 2003 for a period of six years. Work programmes on the project area are managed and operated by RTX. This is the first partial relinquishment of the tenement. EL 3405 Anson is located approximately 140 km south west of Darwin on the Daly River/Port Keats Aboriginal Land Trust on the Cape Scott SE52-07 1:250,000 map sheet. The area covers portions the Palaeozoic Bonaparte Basin. No field-based exploration was completed on the relinquished portion of this tenement. The area relinquished consists of low lying swampy terrain adjacent to the Daly River. The area has low prospectivity for either bauxite or diamonds.
