Title Holder / Company: Union Extended
Report id: CR2006-0638
Tenure: MCN875;  MCN326

Abstract: This Closure Report covers exploration and alluvial mining operations carried out by Ian Genat within MCN's 326 and 875 during the period February, 1993 to December, 2006. The MCN's are located 22km North of Pine Creek, near the Union Extended Mine. Access is via a haul road from the Union Extended Mine. The tenements cover sections of the McKinley River including deposits of alluvial wash along the inside curves of the river. No previous exploration had been done. Test costeans were cut through prospective areas of MCN 326 during 1995. During the last quarter of 2004 the areas of alluvial wash delineated by the test costeans on MCN 326 were mined and washed. 2800 LCMs of alluvial wash from MCN 326 yielded 1115g Au with an average grade of 0.4g/LCM. Overburden was stripped and placed to one side. The alluvial was mined and the overburden then used to level and contour the pit to conform to the river banks. The access road was rehabilitated using a combination of ripping and grading in the windrows, then left for natural regrowth. The pit area and road now have good natural regrowth. No work was done on MCN 875 so no rehabilitation is required.
