Abstract: EL 24581 is situated approximately 240 km northeast of Halls Creek and 70 km east southeast of the Argyle Diamond Mine. The prospect is immediately adjacent to the NT-WA border and access is via the Duncan Highway from Halls Creek or Kununurra, then via station tracks. The tenement is mainly covered by massive, porphyritic and vesicular basalt minor agglomerate and brecciated flows and sandstone with minor pink chert. The geology of the area is dominated by palaeozoic volcanic flows overlying siltstone and sandstone units of the Lower Cambrian. Work included data review and compilation, a site visit, assessment of access and infrastructure. It was concluded that the volcanic flows that dominate the surface have masked any small anomalies that may be associated with weakly magnetic pipelike structures. Selective stream sediment sampling using methods that capture a very fine sample size coupled with followup ground geophysics may prove effective.
