Abstract: EL 24579 is situated approximately 270km northeast of Halls Creek and 90km east southeast of the Argyle Diamond Mine. The prospect is close to the NT-WA Border and access is via the Duncan Highway from Halls Creek or Kununurra and then via station tracks. Geology; The tenement is covered by a mixture of massive, porphyritic and vesicular basalt minor agglomerate and brecciated flows with sandstone and minor pink chert. As well members of the proterozoic Auvergne Group are locally present these include green siltstone interbedded with fine sandstone, shale and minor limestone. A major fault the West Baines Fault passes through the tenement and a number of lineaments are present. Work included data review and compilation, a site visit, assessment of access and infrastructure. The volcanic flows that dominate the surface have masked any small anomalies that may be associated with weakly magnetic pipelike structures. Selective stream sediment sampling with followup ground geophysics may prove effective.
