Final Report on EL 338 for the year 1973 - 1974

Abstract

28 July to 28 October 1973 - All results obtained during the year 1972/73 were analysed. No definite zone of suitable material could be delineated. A new surface sampling programme was prepared and carried out over two limestone outcrops. All samples were found unsuitable for our purpose. 28 October 1973 to 28 January 1974 - Surface sampling was carried out in November/December 1973. All samples collected were found unsuitable. 28 January to 28 April 1974 - Due to the wet season the area was not accessible from December 1973 to April 1974. No field work was carried out during this period. 28 Apri1 to 28 July 1974 - After analysing all results, it was assumed, that this area could not yield an economic supply of material for a lime and cement manufacturing plant. No further work will be carried out over this area.
