Abstract: The eastern portion of Exploration Licence 9722 was surrendered in March 2006. The licence is held by Tawana Resources NL. The area is located approximately 430 kilometres southeast of Darwin on the Moroak (5668) 1:100,000 and Urapunga (SD53-10) 1:250,000 mapsheets. There are two known kimberlite dykes in the area, Packsaddle and Blackjack. No active exploration activities were completed within the surrendered area. All exploration within EL9722 has been to date concentrated on the exposed Packsaddle Kimberlite located in the retained western portion. Due to the extensive cover of sediments in the surrendered area, the potential of a concealed kimberlite cannot at this stage be discounted, but exploration for this high risk target was currently considered not justified.
