Abstract: The Winnecke Project is situated approximately 65 kilometres northeast of Alice Springs in Central Australia. Access is provided via the Stuart and Ross Highways and the Arltunga Tourist Track. The Winnecke Project currently comprises six Exploration Licences. All tenements are registered to Tanami Gold Exploration (TENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL (TGNL), a publicly listed company. In 2005 exploration continued from the 2004 program with geological mapping, lag and rock chip sampling around the Turners Cu-Au prospect on EL 9529. Mineralisation is located adjacent to an ironstone unit within pelitic to psammopelitic gneiss. A total of 24 rock chip samples and 132 lag samples were taken from EL 9529 'Turners' and two rock chip samples from EL 23650 ' Depot Creek'. The best results from Turners were 359ppb Au in a lag sample WNL385, and 1.55 g/t Au, 1.8% Cu and 164ppm Bi (WNK447) from a rock chip sample located in the westernmost diggings from a doleritic amphibolite/calcrete-cemented ironstone breccia contact. Further encouraging rock chip results were 153ppb and 22ppb Au (with 895ppm and 326ppm Cu respectively), from a magnetite-ironstone breccia within a calcrete matrix, and 49ppb and 60ppb Au (with 733ppm and 360ppm Cu respectively) from the middle and northern sections of the most eastern costean.
