Abstract: | This is the FINAL Report for Exploration License (EL) 22376 which was granted to Otter Gold Pty Ltd on the 20th September 2001. The licence was surrendered on the 22nd July 2005. EL 22376 is located some 150km north of the Tanami Mine. This is the Fourth and final year of tenure. First year work involved remote discrimination of targets. The programme failed to target any sites within the boundaries of EL22376. Second year work was halted because of Site access problems with the Central Land Council (CLC) requiring an ILUA (Indigenous Land Use Agreement) to be signed before access will be granted. Third year work concentrated on interpretation and mapping of the region. EL22376 will be part of a new structural interpretation of the Tanami region by 'RSG' (Brett Davies). This is a major strategic review of the Tanami Region for Newmont Exploration. Seven rockchips within EL22376 were taken returning no gold values. Work during the fourth year of tenure included review of all data available to assess whether the tenement was suitable for surrender and the subsequent surrender of the licence on the 22nd July 2005. |
