Title: A sedimentological and paleocurrent analysis of the Mount Eclipse Sandstone, Ngalia Basin, NT
Title Holder / Company: AGIP Australia

Abstract: Report prepared for AGIP Australia to assist in exploration for U deposits. Report investigates changes in sedimentary sequences over time, with recognition of 3 fining upwards megacycles in the Mt Eclipse Sst. Sedimentation probably controlled by horst and graben structures developed during the Kerridy Orogeny. The area on the Stanley Platform between BMR Mt Doreen #10 and Castle Bore along the SW margin of the basin probably offers the best potential for intersecting low-mod dipping coarse-grained facies within the Mt Eclipse Sst. Known reduced facies are present in BMR Mt Doreen #10 while the sequence in o/crop and BMR Mt Doreen #2 are all oxidised, indicating the presence of redox boundaries that may be mineralised.
