Abstract: | Drilling, soil sampling, rock chip sampling and trenching delineated the nature and extent of mineralisation. Gold mineralisation appears to be associated with a zone of quartz stringers at or about the volcanic-sediment contact. The stringers vary in size from a few centimetres to a maximum of 2 metres. The mineralisation zone is associated with a zone of pervasive calcite alteration cut with a lace work of hairline calcite veinlets overprinting an earlier chlorite and calcite alteration. Country rock does not appear to be highly altered. The ground magnetic data failed to enhance understanding of mineralisation controls. A strong elevated chargeability zone outlined by the IP survey reflects the mineralisation trend in the Western Shear Zone. |
