Abstract: In the vicinity of the Galena Cliffs mineralization a soil sampling programme (784 samples) was completed. 20 rock chip samples were also collected. The soil sampling programme defined a 6x1km anomaly (max value 740ppm Pb). 599 infill soil samples were collected from the area of this anomaly. Numerous anomalous values were obtained (max 3610ppm Pb and 1210ppm Zn), however no coherent anomaly was defined. The elevated zinc values were returned from swampy material and have been attributed to scavenging. The swamp zinc anomaly was followed up by 14 RC holes totalling 457m. Anomalous Pb-Zn values were obtained (max 1950ppm Pb, 6100ppm Zn). An IP survey was also conducted in the area. The area was revealed to have low chargeability, suggesting that no major sulphide deposit exists in this area. At the Galena Cliff anomaly the IP survey failed to locate any significant anomalies suggesting no major sulphide deposit exists.
