Abstract: Geochemical sampling by consultant N Marshall over a period of 18 months defined 12 sites warranting follow up. 5 were followed up by RC drilling (10 holes totalling 816m). 4 failed to return any significant results. The remaining anomaly (Anomlay E), now known as Jasper Hill, returned a maximum intercept of 4m at 1.51g-t Au, from the two holes drilled initially. Both holes contained mineralised intercepts.
Three further targets identified by Marshall were RAB drilled and follow up RAB drilling was completed at the Grange, Stoney Ridge and Jasper Hill prospects. Results from 2 of the targets were not considered significant. Target G returned 3m at 0.55g-t Au. Follow up RAB at Stoney Ridge returned no significant intercepts, however, material contained abundant quartz veining. Drilling at the Grange returned some significant intercepts maximum 4m at 3.45g-t Au. Mineralised intercepts generally associated with spherulitic dacite. Follow up at Jasper Hill returned some significant intercepts (maximum 3m at 3.34g-t Au). Results indicate that there are two styles of mineralisation. These are quartz veins hosted in granite, and supergene enrichment at the base of the Antrim Plateau Volcanics.
