Abstract: | This report covers exploration that followed up open file data in NT and WA from before the creation of Keep River National Park. Multi-commodity exploration came to focus on diamonds and gold. Stream sediment and loam sampling was the primary technique used. Some encouraging results were received from the heavy mineral stream sediment samples. The majority of the chromites are from the Antrim Plateau Volcanics, but those recovered from the Cockatoo Creek show different affinities and may be derived from a source closer to the WA border. Elevated gold values were obtained from samples of Cockatoo Formation. |
