Abstract: Interpretation of the aeromagnetic survey delineated a north east trending magnetic anomaly discordant with the known geology of the area. A ground magnetic survey has been carried out over the southern portion of the anomaly. Interpretation suggests a north south striking folded Burrell Creek Formation with a possible north south dextral fault. 9 stream sediment samples taken from prominent drainages in the area returned assays at or below the limit of detection. 30 soil samples were collected in the area of the ground magnetic grid. Two significant results 23.8ppb and 36.3ppb Au were recovered. As the area is under a blanket of black soil the identification of their source has not been possible. 16 rock chip samples were collected-the gold values were low but they were anomalous in Cu, Pb, Zn, As, Bi and Sn. Future work to include ground magnetics, soil sampling and costeaning if warranted.
