Abstract: Some of the remnants of ore are high grade, both in the old stopes and from sulphide ore lying at the surface. The eastern and western lodes have been mined over a considerable distance. A very old report, detailing the work needed to be carried out on the Hercules Gold Mine, and mines in the Eureka area to make them safe and efficient. Discusses the availability of timber, water, labour, explosives etc, that would be required for the mining operation. On the Eureka Leases are two very distinct lines of lode which strike parallel with the foliation planes. From information, there should be a fair chance of the mine being workable. Serious mining depends on the results of boring. Report describes timber available in area as well as the water supplies.
