Abstract: | A stream sediment and rock chip sampling programme was undertaken in 1990. Analysis of results indicate that there are two populations correlating to schist or granite, while Zn is uniformly distributed across the lithologies. A positive skew in the Zn value suggests it would be a useful pathfinder element. Areas of known mineralisation expressed slightly anomalous values for Cu, As and Zn. 19 rock chip samples were taken from quartz pegmatite veins (max values 20.5%, 17.8%Pb, 1.52%Zn) and 3 from a linear granite intruding the schist (max assay 34ppm Cu, 17ppb Pb, and 17ppm Zn). A well defined zone of elevated Cu, Zn and As values lies SW of Mount Hardy (20ppm Cu and 30ppm Zn). |
