| Abstract: | EL 4767 is held to explore for limestone suitable for lime /cement manufacture. Tertiary limestone is widespread within the EL, particularly along the Elsey Reach. This report summarises the work undertaken in the licence area since its grant. Analysis of the sampled material generally showed the material to be low in magnesia but high in silica and so unsuitable for lime manufacture. Only two holes in the northeast corner of the EL showed promise, but this did not justify further work. It was recommended that the EL be surrendered. |
