| Abstract: | A regional aeromagnetic survey was undertaken which identified structural anomalies and 3 areas with interesting magnetic signatures to the west of the Warrego Granite. One of these anomalous areas west of the granite is comprised of 5 outcropping ironstones and has been designated as the Parakeet Prospect. A stream sediment survey was done in the centre and north of EL4895 identifying 3 multielement geochemical anomalies. One of these areas the Wren Prospect was followed up by an infill stream sediment sampling, showing 2 areas of base metal anomalism and 2 gold anomalous catchments. The 2 gold anomalies appear sourced in EL6795. Follow up of the base metal anomalies by soil sampling showed multielement anomalism of a level indicative of lithology rather than economic mineralisation. Spot gold highs were tested by drilling. In general the results were disappointing. |
