Abstract: | Ore bodies in the Tennant Creek District contain copper, gold, silver and bismuth, they are associated with quartz-hematite or quartz-magnetite bodies found in sandstone, shale, greywacke, breccia and siltstone of the Proterozoic Warramunga Group, intruded by acid igneous rocks. The quartz-hematite and quartz- magnetite bodies are usually associated with strong magnetic anomalies. Magnetic surveys have been successful in locating such anomalies, many of which when tested have been found to contain commercial ore bodies. |
