Abstract: EL 4767 is held to explore for limestone suitable for lime /cement manufacture. Two types of limestone have been identified in the EL. One (?Tertiary) which is friable, chalky with low magnesium, the other a Cambrian recrystallised limestone with high magnesium. The low magnesium limestone appears suitable for lime. Some of the high silica contents recorded may be due to auger drilling contamination from surface sand. Future drilling may need a different type of rig.
