Abstract: | 2 microdiamonds were recovered during reconnaissance gravel sampling, they were unsupported by kimberlitic indicator minerals. Such an unsupported occurrence is not indicative of diamond mineralisation. There are no untested magnetic anomalies believed indicative of diatremes. 15 reconnaissance stream samples were collected, 5 were anomalous in gold, sample 1080783 returning a maximum of 300ppb Au. No other elements were anomalous. All anomalous streams were within the Carrara Range Inlier. Follow up of two of the anomalous drainage patterns proved disappointing. One iron stone float sample (2657873) assayed 37.8ppm U and 7.2ppm Sb. This sample was supported by a stream sediment sample. Molybdenum assays should be disregarded due to laboratory sample contamination. Structural features reported include: Carrara Range Inlier. |
