Title: Report on investigations, EL 755 Dashwood
Title Holder / Company: CRA Exploration
Report id: CR1973-0214
Tenure: EL755
Year: 1973
Author: Scott, AK
Abstract: Twenty-seven auger drill holes failed to find any indication of a significant calcrete development or of any anomalous uranium values. The EL should be relinquished. It is considered that the possibility of uranium mineralization (even of low grade) existing in the Dashwood area has been virtually eliminated for the following reasons:
1. The source rocks (except for a small area) are low in U.
2. The source area is small. Therefore the absolute amount of available U is small.
3. Upstream from the EL, uranium values in groundwater are insignificant.
4. There is no major development of calcrete in the EL.
5, There is no more than 2 ppm U in any of the unconsolidated sediments intersected by drilling.
The EL is apparently devoid of uranium-bearing potential and no further work should be carried out.
