Title: 1972 Report on EL 30 Maningrida uranium prospects
Title Holder / Company: McIntyre Mines (Australia)

Year: 1972

Abstract: The M3 anomaly was caused by a radioactive basalt. The reason for the basalt being radioactive is unclear. It is unlikely further work will reveal anything of economic value. The M8 and M9 anomalies are caused by a thin bed of radioactive quartz pebble conglomerate associated with the overlying basalt. No uranium mineralisation was seen at the surface. No further work is warranted. The M12 anomaly is caused by a fine grained dolerite. No further work is warranted. Anomalies M4 and M5 are caused by a silty sandstone. No further work warranted. Anomaly M11 is caused by a biotite granite. No further work is warranted. Anomaly 10A is caused by a silty sandstone. Anomaly 10B is likely caused by a granite. Neither anomalies have any economic significance. Anomaly M2 is caused by a silty sandstone. The anomaly is not economically significant. Part B suggests a closer look at selected anomalies plus a re-evaluation of the 1971 results.
