Abstract: | A helicopter borne stream sediment sample programme consisting of 311 -80# samples was completed. This gave a sample density of 1 per 2 sq km. 2 discrete anomalous catchment were outlined (anomalies I and J). 44 gravel samples were collected and tested for kimberlitic indicator minerals. Results of sampling were negative. An anomalous rock chip sample from the Mountain Home Copper prospect returned 9.5% Cu and 2.6g-t Au. 33 -40# soil samples returned no significant base or precious metal assays. Anomalies I and J were followed up by 393 -40# soil samples and geological mapping. Results showed minor copper mineralisation associated with shear hosted quartz veins in McDermott Formation. Minor widespread Cu-Zn anomalism was shown to be associated with the contact of the McDermott Formation and the Sly Creek Sandstone. |
