Abstract: | In the first phase of sampling 290, 448 and 142 stream samples were collected from EL 7656, EL 7657 and EL 7659 respectively. From these samples numerous chromites and 11 diamonds were recovered. Most of the chromites were deemed to be basaltic in origin, though some were regarded as different to the background population. Follow up included a further 570, 411 and 120 stream samples from EL 7656, EL 7657 and EL 7659. From these samples 2 samples were from EL 7657 returned kimberlitic chromite and a diamond. It was perceived that these samples indicated that a small pipe was near by. |
