Abstract: The report reviews available geophysical data, mostly airborne surveys from the South Alligator River Valley area between 1970 and 1979, and subsequent follow up of anomalies. Most of the data is old, some of it lost, and some of it unacceptable even for standards in place at the time of flying, and not suitable for reprocessing. Radiometric anomalies may be important given the relationship between gold and uranium in the area. Potassium anomalies could reveal alteration associated with uranium/ gold mineralisation. Magnetics could reveal areas of magnetite destruction associated with alteration, and magnetic data should reveal faults and other structures. The report recommends a new survey of all of the area of interest. If this is not possible, then ground work should try to locate radiometric anomalies of interest.
