Abstract: This report contains geochemical analyses performed on samples taken from the NTGS holes drilled on Elkedra sheet in 1986. The sediment intersected showed a possibility of Carlin type gold mineralisation. Diamond core was sampled over 5 to 10 m interval and analysed for Au, Pd, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, As and Ag. 10 of 228 samples reported gold values above the detection limit of 10 ppb; the highest was 40 ppb Au. A majority of base metal values was braodly associated with carbonaceous, calcareous clastic sediments, with Zn and Pb up to 335 ppm and 214 ppm respectively. Some elevated Ni and Cu values were also reported. Weak anomalous gold and base metal values were considered too low to justify any further work.
