Title: Dorisvale, a review of exploration data and Zn Pb potential

Abstract: The Dorisvale area contains proven examples of Mississippi Valley type zinc-lead mineralisation, although it has only some characteristics of the Irish carboniferous deposits, such as, platform carbonates, underlying red beds and metamorphic basement. Some hypothetical potential for epithermal gold mineralisation also exists. This is supported by the presence of extenional faulting and basaltic activity, which may have been responsible for driving a Cretaceous epithermal system. Structural features of interest are the Dorisvale fault and Collia fault. A more through study of the structural and stratigraphic control together with detail sampling of the area is required to reveal the true mineral potantial of the area.
