Abstract: | On the basis of geological mapping carried out in the Waterhouse EL 610 during 1975, four areas were selected for a Track-Etch radon-in-soil sampling programme. It was hoped that the Track Etch results would assist in pin-pointing the best drill targets. Unfortunately all the results have not been entirely conclusive for the selection of specific drill targets. However, with the present detailed understanding of the geology and the similarities of the geological environment to the East Alligator Rivers uranium occurrences; and the discovery of several previously unrecognised surface indications of uranium mineralisation, the radon results give further encouragement for the prospects of locating uranium mineralisation down dip from the uranium intersection encountered in diamond drill hole WH3, and other parts of the exploration license. It is planned to test the most favourable areas with two diamond drill holes. |
