Report on PA 1919 Anthonys Lagoon District.

Abstract

Prospecting Authority No. 1919 covered about. 3,000 square miles on the Barkly Tableland, approximately 150 miles south west of the Gulf of Carpentaria coastline. Geologically the area is part of the Cambrian Georgina Basin which contains extensive phosphate deposits further to the south east. A programme of outcrop examination, scintillometer monitoring and 2847 feet of rotary percussion drilling did not reveal any appreciable phosphate concentrations. No further work is justified and the authority has been relinquished.
