| Abstract: | Helicopter traverses were conducted over the coastal areas of Arnhemland using landing barges as the home-base. Ground-based follow-up exploration was concentrated in eastern Arnhemland. No economic mineral deposits were discovered, but significant evidence of deposits of manganese were recorded. Occurrences of bauxitic material and hematite were sampled. Iron was reported from Elcho and Howard Islands. The survey resulted in an application for AtP 1138 |
