| Abstract: | The Tindall Limestone is being examined for potential use in cement or quicklime manufacture. Previous work on the limestone potential by Northern Cement was re-examined. Aerial reconnaissance was undertaken and followed up with ground work. Tindall Limestone and limestone lenses in the Jinduckin Formation were sampled. Exploration for limestone should continue. In addition, a small thin deposit of manganese exposed in a gravel pit beside the Stuart Highway near the Tipperary turnoff was examined. |
