| Abstract: | Gold had been recorded from uranium ore produced from El Sherana and El Sherana West. At the end of the 1986 field season, 250 rock chip samples were collected from the vicinity of the open pit wokings and other exposures around the mines. Of these, 3 from El Sherana pit were >0.5ppm Au, while there were 8 over 1.0ppm Au from the El Sherana West open pit, with two over 10ppm. Detectable Pd and Pt are associated with some samples. The report recommends further sampling and drilling. It contains data from old records of United Uranium NL which might be able to provide more detailed information on gold distribution. |
