Title: Fifth Annual and Final report EL 7109 'Mount Davidson' from 29 March 1999 to 28 March 2004
Title Holder / Company: Tanami Gold

Abstract: EL 7109 'Mt Davidson' is situated approximately 500 kilometres northwest of Alice Springs and 65 kilometres east of the Granites Gold Mine. It lies within the northern sector of the Lower Proterozoic Tanami-Arunta Province and was explored for gold by Tanami Gold NL. The tenement was granted as part of the Mt Davidson Project on 29 March 1999 over an area of 60 blocks. After 4 years of tenure 15 blocks remained. This Annual and Final Report describes exploration on this area for Year 5 and also summarises all previous exploration during the first four years of tenure. Work consisted of lag sampling, soil sampling, vacuum, BAB, aircore and RC drilling. In addition a low level aeromagnetic survey was flown and geological and structural mapping was carried out. Results from the Year 1 (1999) exploration program returned a number of low level gold anomalous values coincident with the targeted Davidson Beds of the Granites Mine sequence. The best cluster of anomalies was located immediately to the north of the Mt Davidson Exclusion Zone at the Garnet Prospect. In Year 2 and 3 (2000 and 2001) no field exploration was carried out due to access negotiations regarding an excision from the Exclusion Zone so as to allow urther testing of the Davidson Beds in this area. In Year 4 (2002) the Garnet Zone anomalies and a regional aeromagnetic anomaly along the northern tenement boundary were tested with five RC drill holes for 800 metres. No elevated gold values were returned from this program. In Year 5 (2003) clearance was received to conduct limited drilling in the Exclusion Zone. Three targets were tested with RAB and Aircore drilling. The maximum assay value returned was 71ppb Au at Target 3 hosted within saprolitic clay. The best result over a highly prospective structural flexure and de-magnetised zone at Target 1 (Exclusion Zone) was 27ppb Au. No further targets remain on the tenement and thus EL 7109 was recommended for relinquishment.
