Abstract: EL 9774 'Wombat' is situated in Central Australia about 55 kilometres northeast of Alice Springs. The tenement was granted in May 2002 to Normandy NFM Limited and pursuant to the terms of an agreement, was transferred to Tanami Exploration NL (TENL) in June 2002. TENL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tanami Gold NL. This report describes exploration on EL 9774 from its grant date to its surrender on 15 April 2004. During its first year of tenure EL 9774 was the subject of a joint venture agreement between TGNL and Teck Cominco Australia Pty Ltd (Teck) and BHP-Billiton Pty Ltd (BHP). Geodiscovery Pty Ltd managed the exploration for Teck / BHP on the North Wigley project, incorporating EL 9774. Neither the reconnaissance geochemical sampling by TENL in 2000 and 2001, nor the geochemical sampling by Teck returned any significant gold or base metal anomalism. Three ground magnetic traverses were also undertaken without locating any leads.
