Final report for ERL 74, for the term 24th December 1987 to 23rd December 2002

Abstract

This report summarises exploration during the ERL life giving the references for details to the previous annual reports. The licence was explored by a number of companies and work included geophysical surveys, mapping MMI soil geochemistry drilling programs and interpretations. The target has been Tennant Creek-style magnetite ironstone associated gold and copper orebodies. Work completed by Normandy included TDEM and helimagnetic surveys, drilling of one diamond hole and interpretations. No significant mineralisation has been identified. Giants Reef assessed Normandy's records and identified a large magnetic source in the order of 600 m, whose source is unsure. The current company reviewed all the exploration data and concluded that the area has both shallow and deep exploration targets with moderate to high potential. The area of ERL 74 is covered by EL 10015 application, EL 9125 and EL 23784. However the area of interest in the ERL is only covered with EL 23784.
