Abstract: | This documents a reconnaissance through the Victoria Basin by North Limited geologists, Geoscience Australia and the Northern Territory Geological Survey. It includes photographs from type sections and comments on the potential of various formations to host stratiform sediment-hosted base metal mineralisation. A field reconnaissance of the Proterozoic rocks of the Victoria River region by NTGS and North geologists has identified stratigraphic units considered as potential hosts for stratiform, sediment-hosted base metal mineralisation. These occur in four lithostratigraphic groups and are widespread throughout the region. |
