Abstract: | Only one out of the six holes drilled intersected barite. It is clear that barite is not continuous along strike above the water level. The base metal assays have returned some anomalous values for lead (550 ppm), zinc (1600ppm) and nickel (260 ppm) in the black shale sequence. The gravity and magnetic survey indicated an East West strike but the subsequent costean showed no barite continuity. The barite occurence warrants no further exploration. Base metal values from drilling indicate a regional potential for near shore mineralisation. |
