Annual report on EL 5954 'Benda Bluff'; year ending 28-03-2001

Abstract

Exploration work during the reporting period consisted of heavy mineral gravel sampling. Gravel samples were collected and processed to recover diamonds and other kimberlitic indicators from the anomalies defined during the 1999 field season. A single macro diamond was recovered from one sample taken upstream of previous positive results. The remainder of the samples were either negative or contained chromites of probable crustal origin. The catchment of the diamond-bearing sample covers an area of approximately one square km.
