Abstract: EL 7636 Gigantic East, located approximately 30 kilometres east of Tennant Creek, is one of a contiguous group of tenements, referred to as the Eastern Project Area, being explored by Giants Reef. The others are ELs 7985, 9372, 9408, 9645, 9685 and ERL 85, and the Blue Moon tenements, MLC 575, MCC 366 and Hld C36. Targets are gold and copper orebodies, associated with ironstone masses known to exist in the area. Work during the ninth year included a TEM survey over the Ganymede, Leda and Gossan Hill prospects, RC percussion drilling at Gossan Hill, Leda and Hyperion (formerly known as Blue Moon North) RAB drilling at Hyperion, a metal detecting exercise at Leda, and comprehensive validation of the Ganymede database. An Indigenous Land Use Agreement was signed providing Giants Reef access to tenements on the Phillip Creek and Tennant Creek Pastoral Leases (which include EL 7636) for the next 25 years. A regional study on structural and timing controls on mineralisation was conducted for the entire Tennant Creek mineral field, and five rock chip samples were collected from EL 7636 in the course of this work. Overall, EL 7636 is seen as a particularly prospective area, with many prospects and drill targets at various stages of testing. There is a high likelihood that continued investigations will lead to the discovery of new orebodies.
